GUYS. NANOWRIMO IS OVER. Can you even believe it??? I’m sure y’all are feeling lots of mixed emotions right now. It’s always a bittersweet thing when NaNoWriMo ends, but THE STRESS RELIEF IS REAL. :’) I want to hear alllll about your awesome novels (and how NaNo went for you this year!) BUT FIRST: I want to tell you little bit about my novel.
At the beginning of the month, I told you I wasn’t going to say ANYTHING about my novel until NaNoWriMo was all over… then I would BOMBARD YOU WITH AESTHETICS AND PLAYLISTS AND SNIPPETS AND CONFETTI. And, I am pleased to announce, today is that day!! It’s time to CELEBRATE, YO. Let’s get on with it. First, the Pinterest board and working title REVEAL!!
INTRODUCING: MY NANOWRIMO NOVEL OF 2017:
As always, I’m super secretive about my books. I DON’T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THEM MUCH. But I’ll say a few vague words and then let the aesthetics and snippets speak for themselves, how about that? One Hundred Days is a story about healing. It’s about choosing happiness. It’s about getting back up when life knocks you down. It’s about sunlight and a blind girl and poetry and friendship and boys who cry and late-night phone calls and grandparents and flowers in mason jars and little brothers and laughter and bravery. It’s one of those heartbreakingly happy books – I LAUGHED AND CRIED WHILE WRITING IT. And that’s saying something, for me.
I wrote the whole first draft in 26 days. It turned out to be 72,829 words and THAT IS A NEW RECORD FOR ME. I feel kind of bad saying this, but I didn’t even have to TRY. I didn’t have to push myself, or stress out, or hurry. I just woke up every morning WANTING to write. Some days I wrote 5,000 words, other days I wrote less than a thousand…but I REACHED MY GOAL OF WRITING A WHOLE MANUSCRIPT IN ONE MONTH. And it was longer than last year’s novel. So, I’m happy!!!!! (Please excuse me for flailing a little. I’m like, REALLY FREAKING EXCITED.)
Obviously, I can’t include all the characters here. But!! HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT ONES. It was so hard to choose because tbh they are all important in their own way??? But sdfghjklsklfj YEP I’M GONNA SHUT UP NOW AND LET THE CHARACTERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. (Or the aesthetics. Or whatever. Also I got inspiration to do these from Keira even though she told me not to credit her GO CHECK OUT HER BLOG.)

Y’ALL KNOW HOW I’M OBSESSED WITH MUSIC. I make a playlist for every book I write (even the ones I HAVEN’T written yet…especially those.) SO OF COURSE, I HAVE PLAYLIST FOR THIS ONE. And it sums up my novel pretty well. Happy, sad, a chaos of FEEEELS. Oh and it’s nearly 4 delicious hours long, so… you’re welcome. 😉
