For a long time now, there has been two known paths to take if you’re a writer interested in getting your book out into the world: traditional publishing and indie (self) publishing.

For most people, traditional sounds like the better deal. A large advance, a promising contract, and all the actual publishing work taken out of your hands? Sweet. Indie publishing, however, has garnered a bad rap for most people — it often conjures images of a dozen cardboard boxes of your beautiful books rotting in you garage because you don’t know how to sell them.

That may have been true of indie publishing once, but times have changed. It’s 2019 and indie publishing is not what it once was twenty years ago — or even ten years ago.

A lot of you already know that I am indie publishing my debut novel, 100 Days of Sunlight this August and since I made the announcement, I’ve received quite a few messages and comments and emails asking me to talk a bit about self publishing — why I chose this path and why I 10/10 recommend it to other authors out there.

So in today’s video I’m talking all things indie publishing:
